The Arabia Times: Explain your background and your Company’s in detail.

Islam Ahmed: I have over than 16 years of food and beverage industry experience across Egypt and Dubai. I have worked as an operations manager for a leading restaurant company in Dubai for almost 6 years then decided to have my own business.

The Arabia Times: How did you get the idea to start this company?

Islam Ahmed: I have started a small cloud kitchen in Dubai in the end of 2021 managing and operating some home grown concepts like grilled food, sushi and bakeries.

After a successful journey in Dubai market, I decided to start something in my hometown, Egypt and Cairo specially.

The Arabia Times: What was the path you took to get to where you are today?

Islam Ahmed: Knowing that Cairo is a very growing and strong market leader nowadays in F&B, I was confident of the swift success. We realized that the most popular food where 95% of the people demands are going to is Egyptian Street Food. Here is Kimpi’s! We named our company as Kimpi’s. In Kimpi’s, my main goal was to serve the street food in an elegant way. I wanted the people in the egyptian street to experience the service as same as the people in Dubai.

The Arabia Times: What do you feel is the biggest strength of “KIMPI RESTAURANT” right now?

Islam Ahmed: Kimpi’s restaurant is serving different menu items such as Crepes, Pizzas, Pasta, Sandwiches, Burgers and Shawerma. In almost six months, Kimpi’s marked the most popular elevated street food in Helwan city.

I was graduated from faculty of tourism and hotel’s management which was a reason of having a knowledge and scientific background along with a practical experience. After graduation, I worked as a restaurant manager for an international fast food company in Dubai then, I was hired as a multi brand operations manager for several years. After this, I started my business in Dubai.

The Arabia Times: What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome during this journey?

Islam Ahmed: The biggest challenge in our field anywhere is the consistency with the same momentum of the start. None can do this unless they have the tools to do so. Strong team, planning and vision are the tools.
